Peugeot 508 SW in the Scottish Highlands | 48 Hour Roadtrip
Automotive Photography | Scottish Highlands
In November, I was approached by Peugeot UK to plan a short road trip around one of my favourite places, the Scottish Highlands, and capture my experience with new 508 SW Sports Engineered. Firstly, it was always going to be a struggle to try and pick the right locations for such a short road trip, however after some research I felt like the route that would indeed put the car through its paces would be from Glencoe, right up to the top of the Isle of Skye.
For anyone who has visited this part of the UK before, you will know how unpredictable the weather can be, and how everything can indeed change within just a few minutes. When we began to head north, the rain was persistent, but the 508 SW handled the wet and sometimes tricky conditions with ease. For me, this was the first time that I had the opportunity to drive a hybrid car, and honestly I was blown away by not only the adaptive systems that this Peugeot had built in, but also the ease of use, to switch through modes from Hybrid, to Sport, and then Electric to suit the environment that we were driving through. I can’t really go any longer without mentioning the design of this car. I immediately fell in love with the attention to detail on the 508 SW, being able to see every little bit of thought that had gone into the manufacturing of this stunning car.
I definitely feel like the Scottish Highlands, and in particular the route we took, was the best place to test the 508 SW. We drove through tight scenic roads in Glen Etive, above the clouds travelling over Glen Garry, and then along winding roads cut through the spectacular landscape of the Isle of Skye.
